Pursuant to article 5 of the Constituent Declaration and Functions and Rules of Procedure of the Caribbean Development and Cooperation Committee (LC/CAR/G.780/Rev.1), membership of the Committee may be acquired by countries within the sphere of action of the ECLAC subregional headquarters for the Caribbean that become members or associate members of ECLAC. Sint Maarten was granted associate membership of ECLAC at the thirty-fifth session of the Commission in Lima in May 2014 and will therefore be welcomed as an associate member of the Committee.
