Subregional and national action will be framed by the significant global platforms which will guide and support policies to further implementation of the Barbados Programme of Action for the Sustainable Development of Small Island Developing States and the Mauritius Strategy for the Further Implementation of the Programme of Action for the Sustainable Development of Small Island Developing States, the Cairo Programme of Action on Population and Development, the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action, the Millennium Development Goals, and the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) outcomes.
